The best New Year’s Eve events happening across the UK

If you’re like us and you’ve left it until now to organise your New Year’s Eve plans, here’s some of the best events happening across the UK to help you decide where to see in 2020.

Liverpool, London & Birmingham:

Twisted Circus NYE Festival

Fancy seeing in 2020 whilst watching some death-defying acts? Well look no further than Twisted Circus, who are back for a sixth year with New Year’s Eve events in the O2 Academys in Liverpool and Birmingham, and Shaka Zulu in London. Alongside performances from world-class circus acts, there will be giveaways and a midnight confetti shower. This is sure to be a crazy party you won’t forget.

Manchester:

Magical Lantern Rave

Maybe the most colourful event on our list, the Carnival of Light brings some magic to Bowlers, Manchester this NYE with the Magical Lantern Rave. Jaguar Skills will be headlining, and there’ll be a soundtrack of drum ‘n’ bass and house music to dance the night away to. Prepare to party in a kaleidoscope of colour, as the dress code is ‘hyper colour’.

Glasgow:

Ashton Lane Street Party

There’s nowhere better to see in 2020 in the UK than in Scotland, who show the rest of the UK how New Year’s Eve events should be done. Whilst there are plenty of Hogmanay parties to go to, the Ashton Lane Street Party in Glasgow’s West End is one not to miss. As well as the open-air stalls and all the Ashton Lane venues to enjoy, there’ll be live entertainment and fireworks.

Edinburgh:

Hogmanay Hoot Massaoke

Enjoy karaoke? Check! Enjoy clubbing? Check! Well the people behind Massaoke have your NYE plans sorted with this party at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange. There will be live music you can sing along to, a silent disco, bars, Scottish street food—and it wouldn’t be Hogmanay without some bagpipes added in, would it?!

Birmingham:

A Weird & Wonderful New Year’s Eve

If you’re a drum ‘n’ bass fan, this one’s for you. Weird Science—promoters of Birmingham’s Made Festival—are back again at The Mill in Birmingham this new year’s eve for what looks set to be a sold-out event. Headliners Chase & Status will be joined by Bou, Unglued, Royal-T, Bushbaby, and many more—and there will also be a midnight set from A.M.C.

Leeds:

Natural Selection New Year’s Takeover

This FREE New Year’s Eve party at Headrow House in Leeds is definitely deserving of a place on this list. The party takes place over three floors—and best of all, Simian Mobile Disco are the special guests. Make sure you get there early as tickets don’t guarantee entry.

Bristol and London:

KISSTORY NYE

Bringing old skool and anthems to Indigo at The O2 in London and SWX in Bristol this New Year’s Eve, club night KISSTORY is perfect for all you R&B and Garage lovers out there. The line-up in Bristol is yet to be announced, but if the line-up for London is anything to go by, it’s sure to be a good one: FUNKY DEE (Live PA), DJ Pied Piper & MC DT, DJ Justin Wilkes, DJ Swerve and many more.
