We Love Green

We Love Green is as forward-thinking as festivals come. As the name might suggest, they’re all about eco-conscious living and so We Love Green works hard every year to promote progressive ethics and environmental responsibility. It’s not all so serious though, it’s also about good music and good times, which is why they’ve boasted a brilliant line-up for this year, including Booba, Christine and the Queens, FKA Twigs, Future, Kali Uchis, Metronomy, Rosalía and Tame Impala.

Meadows In The Mountain

Visit ‘where the land touches the sky and the sun cuddles nature’ for an extraordinary festival experience. There are four stages in total with completely different atmospheres to accommodate for the variety of music and performances. There is also a designated wellbeing area to meet all your needs. This includes workshops that vary from plant-based medicine to tarot and Ayurveda. The locals of Polkovnik even make a special appearance every year for a choir performance dressed in their full traditional attire.

Winner of the 2018 Best Medium-Sized Festival at the European Festival Awards, it’s very clear that Northside has come a long way since it’s early days as a one-day, five-acts festival. Now Northside opens its doors to 40,000 guests and hosts some impressive international stars. NOS Primavera Sound

This is Barcelona Primavera’s little sister festival in Portugal, although as each year goes by it sure grows up fast! What started in 2011 is not what you’ll find in 2019 as it is now one of the most anticipated festivals in Portugal for pulling together a top-notch line-up. This year you’ll be graced with the presence of Solange, Erykah Badu, J Balvin, Rosalía, Interpol, Stereolab, James Blake, Courtney Barnett, Jarvis Cocker, Modeselektor (live), Nina Kraviz and many more talented artists.

Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park

Germany’s most popular twin rock festivals will be going big this year with their line-up of Alice in Chains, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Dropkick Murphys, Foals, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Tenacious D, The 1975, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Slipknot, Die Antwoord, Halestorm, Sabaton, Architects and so many others. Summerburst: Göteborg

Summerburst in Gothenburg is one of Sweden’s most famous annual festivals and has gained quite the reputation for creating a memorable weekend. After many successful years, the music curators at Summerburst have become renowned for bringing some of the best electronic music to the stage. This year they’ve invited Will Sparks, Tiësto and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to headline. With three stages and a whole host of pyrotechnics, this is the event of the summer in Sweden’s second biggest city.

World Club Dome: Space Edition

In Frankfurt this June you can catch the Space Edition of the international festival, World Club Dome, and their impressive line-up of David Guetta, Alison Wonderland, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin van Buuren, Lost Frequencies, Don Diablo, Bassjackers and Marshmello among many more. It is Pinkpop’s 50th birthday this June and hitting the half a century mark is a perfect reason to party like there is no tomorrow! The line-up at Pinkpop this year is full of huge, international superstars from a good variety of music genres to ensure that there is something everyone will love. You won’t want to miss the performances from Fleetwood Mac, Mumford & Sons, The Cure, Armin van Buuren, Jamiroquai, Bastille, Lenny Kravitz Elbow, George Ezra, Tenacious D, Bring Me The Horizon, Major Lazer, The Kooks and The 1975.

As the largest music festival in Western Norway, Bergenfest holds itself up as a huge celebration of both international and Norwegian music. Every year Bergenfest delivers a line-up of phenomenal talent from a good variety of genres, ranging from rock to blues. This year’s line-up includes Years & Years, Jungle, Jacob Banks, First Aid Kit, Bon Iver, Tove Lo, Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, Cautious Clay and Emma Steinbakken, among many other fresh talent waiting to be discovered.

Graspop Metal Meeting

Graspop is a heavy metal festival in Belgium that has been going strong since 1996. The festival has seen a continuous rise in attendance, with around 152,000 people turning up in the most recent years. As the festival grows so does their impressive international line-up which is spread across five stages: two main stages, a marquee, metal dome and the jupiler stage. This year’s headliners include Slayer, Within Temptation, Def Leppard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slipknot, Sabaton and KISS.

Hellfest Open Air

The biggest and arguably, most extravagant metal festival in Europe has returned yet again to maintain its position at the top! To secure Hellfest Open Air’s reputation for another year is an iconic line-up including some of the biggest metal and rock artists in the industry: Dropkick Murphys, Def Leppard, Slayer, Manowar, KISS, Tool, Gojira, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sisters Of Mercy, Sum 41, Lamb of God, Dream Theater, Whitesnake and Refused among so many more.

Secret Solstice

Secret Solstice, also known as the ‘Midnight Sun’ is easily one of the most scenic festivals in the world. The festival is an out-of-this-world experience with a top-notch line-up of Martin Garrix, Black Eyed Peas, Patti Smith, Rita Ora, Pussy Riot, Boy Pablo, Morcheeba and many more. Picture all this and then picture several extra events that include concerts inside a lava tunnel and inside a glacier—it’s almost too good to be true!

Denmark’s forest festival will be celebrating its fifth year and to do so they’ve secured some big international names to join the party, including Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Swedish House Mafia, Lana Del Rey, A$AP Rocky, Diplo, Macklemore, Sheryl Crow, Sigrid, LOC, Duran Duran, Eric Prydz, The Lumineers and The Chainsmokers. Over 60 names have now been scheduled to perform over the three days and with such a range of genres on offer, you’re bound to find something you like.

Lollapalooza Stockholm

The worldwide Lollapalooza festival has added another destination to 2019— Stockholm! Aiming for immediate success, Lollapalooza Stockholm has secured a fantastic line-up including some very big names in showbiz. The headliners for this year’s festival are Travis Scott (Friday), Lana Del Rey (Friday), Foo Fighters (Saturday), Laleh (Saturday), Chance The Rapper (Sunday) and Lil Uzi Vert (Sunday). Lucca Summer Festival

Lucca Summer Festival is a two week long festival with concerts and events held across multiple historic and scenic locations including the city walls, Piazza Napoleone, Piazza San Martino and Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. As a celebration of artistic expression Lucca Summer Festival attracts many of the greats in music, for example, David Bowie, Boy Dylan and James Brown have all graced Lucca Festival with their presence in past years. The 2019 line-up has some huge stars listed, such as Elton John, Take That, Ennio Morricone, De Gregori & Orchestra, Toto, Calcutta, Sting and many other impressive performers.

Montreux Jazz Festival

It’s been 53 years since Montreux Jazz Festival began and in that time the festival has created an impressive legacy as the world’s second largest jazz festival. This year all the performances will take place across various venues on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Geneva! And if that doesn’t sell it to you then maybe the words of blues legend, Quincy Jones will: ‘It’s the most important testimonial to the history of music, covering jazz, blues and rock.’

More than 100 techno artists will be hitting the stage at Amsterdam’s huge summer festival, Awakenings. We’re talking the biggest names in the genre, with performances from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Nina Kravis, Charlotte de Witte, Sven Väth and Adam Beyer. This eccentric two-day event in the heart of the international dance capital will offer a festival experience like no other.

Roskilde Festival

Roskilde is all about music, activism, arts, camps and freedom. The festival is much bigger than just top-quality music, although that’s not to say there isn’t an impressive line-up. After winning ‘Line-up of the Year’ at the European Festival Awards 2018, Roskilde have got a lot to live up to this year and they won’t disappoint with headliners including The Cure, Travis Scott, Cardi B, MØ and Robyn. Hideout Festival

All electronic music fans must add Hideout Festival to their bucket list for 2019! This five-day action-packed festival offers you the party of a lifetime. There’s a total of five open-air venues that will be going strong with performances until the early hours of the morning and if that’s not enough there’s also boat parties, pool parties and beach parties you can attend. Headliners this year include Bicep, Rudimental, MK and CamelPhat among many others.

Open’er Festival

Open’er Festival is a huge event with around 120,000 attendees each year. This Polish festival has really made a name for itself, especially for securing a world-class line-up full of musicians at the top of their game. This year you can catch shows from Travis Scott, Swedish House Mafia, Anna Calvi, Diplo, Flatbush Zombies, G-Eazy, Greta Van Fleet, Idles, J Balvin, Jorja Smith, Kamasi Washington, Kodaline, Lil Uzi Vert, Robyn, Rosalía, Rudimental, Sheck Wes, The 1975 and Vampire Weekend.

Resurrection Fest

Welcome to chapter 14 of Resurrection Fest, the award-winning Spanish rock festival that always pulls out all the stops. Exit Festival

In an enchanting abandoned fortress next to the River Danube, the 19th edition of Exit is ready to go above and beyond this summer. Already at its third edition, Neversea festival is a summer music event highlight in Europe. It’s the biggest festival on the Black Sea shore in Romania. Rock For People

Rock for People is one of the largest open-air summer music festivals in the Czech Republic. Alongside great music, there’s also a huge variety of workshops and activities you can get involved with. To mark the 25th edition of this festival, the 2019 line-up showcases some brilliant talent: Bring Me The Horizon, Manic Street Preachers, Rudimental (live), Franz Ferdinand, Kodaline, You Me At Six, Pale Waves and several other inspiring artists.

Cactusfestival is a very intimate gathering thanks to its one-stage-only setting, which ensures that the whole carefully curated line-up can be enjoyed by all. Dublin’s biggest outdoor music festival is bringing the best and biggest chart-topping stars together this July. Main Square Festival

Founded in 2004, Main Square Festival takes place every summer in the Citadel of Arras (France), a magnificent and historical area included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Each year, it gathers an audience of 120,000 people for three days in the festival grounds located in the heart of the city. For the 15th edition, 47 bands will be taking over the Citadel including DJ Snake, Christine and the Queens, Macklemore and Martin Garrix.

RFM Somnii

RFM Somnii is an electronic dance music festival on the beach in the central region of Portugal. Since 2012, RFM Somnii has been heating up the summer with their line-up of the best and biggest names in dance music. This year is no different with the likes of Afrojack, DJ Snake, Don Diablo, Alesso, Netsky, Tyga, Radical Redemption, Jay Hardway and Redfoo all performing at this 3-day beach festival. You can choose to camp in the park away from the festival or right on the beach.

We Are Electric

This electronic music festival is just an hour away from Amsterdam tucked away inside a beautiful woodland setting. At We Are Electric, the party goes on long into the night so don’t come along expecting to get much rest. Plus why would you want to sleep when they’ve got a line-up that includes The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure (DJ set), Eric Prydz, Richie Hawtin (Closer), Oscar and the Wolf, Nina Kraviz, Alan Walker, San Holo and many more big talents.

Isle of MTV Malta

This summer will mark the Isle of MTV Malta’s 13th year running and they plan on beating the superstition and making this their lucky year with huge international headliners Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha performing on 9 July (tickets for this concert are free!). Mad Cool Festival

Mad Cool Festival brings the party to Spain’s capital. It showcases a variety of talent so you can catch the biggest modern tunes in rock, pop and dance music. On Thursday, you can see shows from Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend and The Chemical Brothers. Then on Friday, there’ll be shows from The National and The Smashing Pumpkins. Pohoda Festival

Ultra Europe

Ultra Europe edition gives EDM fans from all over the world a home and a place to unite in their shared love of the genre. The last few years saw a turnout of around 120,000 attendees so you’ll definitely be far from lonely here. The headliners this year includes Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, David Guetta, The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Carl Cox, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, Alesso, Eric Prydz, Steve Angello and DJ Snake. Ultra has a reputation for creating incredible stage designs that leave lasting impressions in the minds of festival-goers.

Afropunk Paris

Afropunk Paris is in a new venue for its fifth edition: La Seine Musicale. More than a festival, it’s a real experience shared with a constantly growing and eclectic crowd. This year, you can see Janelle Monáe, Masego, Ibeyi, IAMDDB, Lizzo and more. In 2018, Afropunk Paris sold out for the fourth time in a row because of its irresistible growth. The festival is now a major iconic event in the City of Lights but retains its identity and commitment.

Fresh Island Festival

Fresh Island festival dubs itself the hottest urban, hip hop and R&B experience. Located on the beautiful island of PAG, it truly does capture the whole paradise appeal. There’s more to the festival than just the main program, with both pre and after parties, you’ll be lucky to catch a wink of sleep! The impressive line-up this summer includes Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Not3s, Yxng Bane, Hardy Caprio, Afro B, B Young, Tim Westwood and DJ Semtex.

Colours of Ostrava

Colours of Ostrava is a big international festival that attracts culture and music-lovers from near and far. Last year’s festival offered over 350 programme items, across 21 outdoor and indoor stages. This year, there will be shows from many internationally-acclaimed stars, such as The Cure, Florence + The Machine, Rag’n’Bone Man, Mogwai, John Butler Trio, ZAZ, Mariza, Shaka Ponk and so many more. Electric Castle

No other festival venue quite compares to the historic and majestic Bánffy Castle. Electric Castle offers a massive, action-packed 24-hour programme with a mixture of street performers, stand-up comedy and huge music stars. It claims to break the boundaries between electronic music and reggae, mainstream and subculture. This summer you can see shows from Florence + The Machine, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Bring Me The Horizon, Metric, Boys Noize and The Vaccines.

Deichbrand Festival

One of the most popular music festivals in Germany is at the North Sea. Deichbrand Festival welcomes more than 60,000 enthusiastic ‘Freaks and Folks, Fans and Friends’. Around 100 bands, live acts, DJs and poetry slammers perform on five stages over four days and four nights. The lineup for 2019 includes Thirty Seconds To Mars, The Chemical Brothers, Biffy Clyro, The Kooks and many more.

Every year since 1994, in the heart of Barcelona, you can find Sónar, one of the greatest celebrations of electronic music in Europe. Melt has a global reputation for pulling off a legendary festival and it has continued to grow over 20 years. Lollapalooza Paris

Lollapalooza is back for the third year in Paris. Twenty Øne Piløts, The Strokes, Orelsan, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and many more are due to perform. Positivus Festival

This two-day celebration of music and culture in the beautiful scenic country of Latvia is a perfect bucket-list destination to check off this July. Positivus combines a variety of music genres: indie, pop, folk and electronic. The festival has a mix of activities to get involved with that cater for all groups, including families. Every year there are around 60-70 different artists performing and this year, The 1975, Disclosure (DJ set), Underworld and Royal Blood will be headlining the festival.

Rock Werchter

Rock Werchter is one of Europe’s oldest and most well-established festival and with this reputation comes great reassurance that the line-up and overall 4-day event will be hugely impressive. Unite With Tomorrowland

With a livestream from the main Tomorrowland festival in Belgium, UNITE aims to build bridges with the rest of the world for those who may appreciate the smaller price tag attached. Meo Sudoeste

Way Out West

In Slottsskogen’s secluded woodland setting you can find one of Sweden’s biggest music festivals with an impressive and diverse line-up of hip-hop, rock, indie and dance music. Way Out West has won several awards in past years, especially for their commitment to creating a green and sustainable festival. You’ll be excited about this year’s line-up which includes Cardi B, The Cure, Stormzy, James Blake, Jon Hopkins (live), Zara Larsson, Earl Sweatshirt and Christine and The Queens.

Flow Festival

Perhaps hosting a festival in a former power plant is a little obscure but don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. This location offers 10 different stages to host a variety of music and ultimately sets the perfect ambience. Flow Festival aims to impress with big stage designs, including a 360° balloon stage featuring a huge pressurised balloon. Kraków Live Festival
